Travelex International and Carnival Cruise Lines have partnered to provide unique fundraising opportunities, for non-profit organizations that have a 501c (3) or 501c (6) tax status, whereby we can help the non-profit organization raise thousands of dollars with very few man hours.

While we have partnered with other travel suppliers, for similar fundraising opportunities, we will highlight our program with Carnival Cruise Lines because of their significance in this area of travel service.

As a leader in the cruise industry for over 30 years, Carnival Cruise Lines has also been a major supporter of many non-profit organizations, locally and nationally.  They understand the importance and challenges of fundraising, and appreciate that your continued success depends on the hard work of dedicated people and the generosity of contributors.

As a vital extension of their tradition of supporting charities, Carnival Cruise Lines developed a program to enhance your fundraising efforts.  With this program, you are able to raise much needed funds and at the same time give supporters of your organization all the fun of a cruise vacation.

Getting started is simple with this four-step plan:

  1. Decide on the length of cruise for your group; Carnival offers a 3-16 day cruise vacation.

  1. Determine when you would like to cruise as a group.

  1. Ask Travelex International which sailings offer the greater fundraising amenity.

  1. Develop a plan to promote your special sailing for supporters of your non-profit organization.

The fundraising program works as follows:

Travelex International will work with the non-profit organization to design a program and/or theme and choose a Carnival Cruise Lines ship and sailing date to promote, for the non-profit organization to receive the greatest value.  The non-profit organization’s group passenger will be offered a cruise price inclusive of a fundraising contribution to participate.  This blended price may be at or below what the individual could purchase the cruise for on their own outside of the group.

The non-profit organization would include in the price per passenger a fund raising contribution of $5 per day per passenger (e.g., $35 per passenger, or $70 per cabin, for a 7-day cruise and Carnival Cruise Lines will then match the raised funds up to $70 per cabin on a 7-night cruise).  The non-profit organization in our example would realize $140 per cabin for the cruise as a contribution.

In addition, for every 16 paying passengers who sail on this group departure, we can offer one free passenger (excluding airfare and port taxes/fees), which will add to the monetary contribution for the non-profit organization

Travelex International and Carnival Cruise Lines will send your contribution check(s) after the cruise concludes based on the number of cabins sold, and we can provide all the promotional material to make your cruising for charity a success.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?

  • The non-profit organization can raise thousands of dollars with very few man hours.

  • Participants enjoy a vacation, learn about important non-profit organization issues, and feel great about supporting a worthwhile cause.

  • Press releases and advertising of the fund raising cruise will bring more community recognition to the non-profit organization.

  • Friends and family tend to vacation together so you gain access to potential new contributors who have disposable income and can assist you with future events.

MINIMUM PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

  • The non-profit organization must have a 501c (3) or 501c (6) tax status.

  • To qualify for match funding, a minimum of eight (8) cabins must be sold.

  • Carnival Cruise Lines will match fund up to $5 per person per day for the cruise.

  • The non-profit organization can mark up their portion more than $5 per person, if desired.

  • We encourage the non-profit organization to have at least 6-9 months to work with before departure of the cruise to adequately market and promote the program.

HOW TO GET STARTED:

  • Decide on the length of cruise for the non-profit organization.

  • Determine when you would like to cruise.

  • Coordinate with Travelex International and Carnival Cruise Lines to identify which sailings offer the most fundraising value (amenity points).

  • Develop a plan to promote your special sailing (e.g., coordinate a joint travel program, for the benefit of the non-profit organization).

Let Travelex International be your guide for creating travel fundraising programs that compliment your contribution efforts for your non-profit organization.
